Can the erase button default NOT be "ALL".

Sometimes I'm trying to quickly get a shaker for instance programed in right,
and I have to keep erasing it and doing it over quickly while I'm feeling it out.

If I forget to slow down and hit the pad first to change "ALL" to the pad while I'm concentrating on the groove,
my whole sequence gets nuked.
And the undo button doesn't bring it back.

It seems like "ALL" would be used much less often then deleting a single note.
So as a safe guard it would be nice if "Note:" was initially empty by default.
And it wouldn't erase anything until you to select a note or ALL.

It just seems like it would be nice for flow.
Maybe make it an option in settings.

Well using the undo instead of erase would seem to take care of most of that problem.
:)

Thats probably what its intended for in the first place.
I'll just have to get into the habit of doing it that way instead.

What? Someone actually thinking about using "UNDO"?! Blasphemy ;)

And speaking of this Erase defaulting to the ALL, you're not referring to realtime erase, right? only using non-realtime erase for nuking whole patterns myself..

Stop, erase button.

I never got in the habit of using the undo because sometimes in undoes somethings but not the whole sound if I've hit record a few times.

Probably a holdover from using older machines also.

But it does help to use it because it usually works and when it doesn't I've slowed down enough to carefully make sure I select what I want deleted.

I still think it would be useful to not default to all,
but the deal with hardware is to train yourself around its limitations.

Thats why I like hardware.

Well, I'm speaking theoretically here, based on past experiences ;)

The 2500 sure is a good looking machine.

Especially the carbon fiber limited edition.

But when the JJ OS makes it functionally equal to the 1000,
other then aesthetics I'm not sure that the difference in physical footprint is justified.

The full size pads, number keys and tilt screen would seem to be the argument.
Thats not a bad argument.

yeh i want to go up to 2500 eventually just for the 2 extra Qlinks. 2 extra outputs is a bonus though to.
I Hope that any change to delete will not change the behaviour of repeat deleting. It stays on what is selected last time for convenience, and this is good. Just my 2 cents. Either way though cos of undo I am not fussed about it.
