with these yamaha sequencers you had the possibility to store up to 5 track mutes scenes and recall them just pressing the corresponding switch,
so you had for example:
MUTE GROUP 1: bass, synths and piano
MUTE GROUP 2: bass, and drums
MUTE GROUP 3: bass, drums and piano
MUTE GROUP 4: synth and pad

It's too sad that with the mpc this cannot be done ... please JJ !!!

It is possible! Just use sequences and the "next seq" mode...

Copy sequence, set "mute tracks" as you need...play back and forth in "next seq"

I was aware of the next SEQ trick, but it is not exactly the same..
Yamaha mute groups have nothing to do with sequences, they just mute and unmute tracks while the sequence is running.
