Hi,
requesting microtonal tuning support for jjos. Currently the only samplers that have this feature are the old ensoniq samplers (mirage, eps, eps 16+, asr-10 and asr-x, asr-x pro). This feature would enable the mpc1000/2500 to be able to use scales in just intonation (i.e intune with harmonic series), also other equal temperament scales such as 19 tone equal temperment, 31 tone equal temperament and many world scales that do not fit into the standard western 12 note equal tempered scale.

The best way to do this is to use the midi tuning standard which is described here :
http://www.microtonal-synthesis.com/MIDItuning.html
It is important to implement the full tuning standard which enables realtime tuning and also a high degree of tuning resolution: "Realtime messages. The following message changes the tuning of one or more notes in realtime. The "preferred" method according to the specification is to change the tuning immediately for any notes currently sounding. The optional method is to change the tuning only for new notes that follow the tuning message. In reality, the preferred method depends on what the composer is trying to accomplish and this author recommends a global parameter on the synthesizer to select between immediate and new note only retuning."

Tunings can be edited either on the mpc or else on the the free editing program scala:
http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/
or controlled in real time using alt-tuner:
http://www.tallkite.com/alt-tuner.html

Scala additionally comes with over 4500 scales such as just intonation scales, equal and historical temperaments, microtonal and macrotonal scales, and non-Western scales.

It would also be beneficial if MTS tuning messages could be inserted at various points in sequences to change tunings at various points in an arrangement.

Currently some new manufacturers are supporting the Midi Tuning Standard (MTS) such as the new Korg monologue which though Aphex Twin's influence and foresight have decided to adopt this excellent feature. Also all new DSI synths such as the OB6 and Prophet 6 now support the Midi Tuning standard. Also the cirklon sequncer has decided to implement this feature on its sequencer for sending tuned Control Voltages to modular (eurorack etc) and analog synths.

yes this would be amazing. You can do it individually by detuning samples in the program screen, but it{s one by oe and not shifting or loading whole scales. I thought it just sends midi pitch bend from a table for all notes... sounds easy enough
