Using 2500 w/XLCD, I get so excited whenever an OS update is released and then disappointed when I realize Pad Status Display Mode is still gone. I feel very strongly the 2.XX OS needs some kind of "live performance mode". My latest idea is to incorporate this into the Main screen of Audio Mode. That way you could manipulate a track and trigger pads from one screen. I personally, do not need a mixer view when playing live. My idea is to replace mixer view with 4x4 Pad status display. Perhaps "F" keys could be repurposed for live use, one could be used to switch between track edit and pad trigger, Note Repeat settings and Looping come to mind also, I don't know, Anyone?
