Firefox and Chrome are giving major security warnings on the log-in page after being updated.

Must likely due to Cert status of the website. For user's protection, an upgrade is needed.

This site doesn't currently use https and therefore doesn't have a certificate associated with it, never has done in the 14 years it's been running. If you choose to append https to the login URL yourself you will obviously receive warnings as the site isn't configured for this.

TBH I haven't considered https as we are not dealing with financial data but I appreciate that a forum account would benefit from having encrypted login areas. I know Google is pushing all sites to run https by default but there is a cost and performance hit in doing this, and TBH this forum is already skating on thin ice regarding costs and hassle for little in return.
