If i test this with a multimeter with the mpc off, i get no continuity.
(eg. the same result as holding the test probes apart.)

Does this mean it is broken?

Peace

Yes...
In mine.
In many others. ( and in other AKAI samplers too )
As a matter of course.
Only ever a poly switch replacement.
Not that stupid one time blow through hole mounted silicon fuse that AKAI insisted on using.
The polyswitches present on old SCSI cards can be pulled and used although I would recommend fitting a new component ... ( for the obvious reasons )

Is RXE075 from jaycar a good option?

Seems ?

Read the whole SCSI faq article again.

Look at the POLYSWITCHES on your SCSI cards.

RXE110
RUE110

An RXE075 will trip at too low a current.

i replaced it with a fuse from a pci scsi card and it is working awesome.

i got the RXE110 from jaycar but it looked too huge to use? it's about 2/3 the size of a aussie 5c coin.... rated at 22W?

If the RXE110 from JayCar is in an oversized package then it is possibly a non TYCO/RAYCHEM sourced component. ( The real deal )
In true JayCar fashion... an inferior/possibly bootleg/questionable source component.
At least your MPC3000 SCSI port is now working properly again.

Greetings, my apologies for dragging up an old thread, I thought it better than starting a new one on this same subject. Can anyone tell me if this specific fuse will do the job?

1.1A 30V 40A Imax PolySwitch Fuse Raychem RUE110

I found it by searching for RUE110 and it says it's a Raychem, but I'm not sure if the other specs (ie. 30v and 40a) are up to par. I've done a good amount of searching through the forum and have read the SCSI faq article but I want to be certain that I'm not ordering a fuse that will cause any problems with the MPC.

I'm having a friend who is more experienced in soldering and the like replace the fuse on my 3000 LE, but I told him I'd supply the part. Will post pics in the 3000 le thread asap. Thanks in advance for any help and I apologize if this specific info is listed elsewhere on the forum.
