2 bar beats

hey, this is my 2nd day with the mpc 60II, getting the hang of the method pretty quick, i have the latest OS 3.10 or whatever with the manual and am reading though it, but im a bit unsure on how to make 2 bar loops, the last bar though, with a variation or fill..

does this have to be done through song mode, and assign two seqences ?
or can it still all be in one sequence ?

the default sequence is 2 bars. If you want something different at the end of an existing 2 bar loop, you can insert blank bars at the end when you hit the edit button. Or you can create a different sequence of the part you want to add then copy it to the first loop.

You can use song mode, but it isnt necessary and it takes longer than the ways above.

sorry i mean 4 bar..

when i go to edit, i can copy the bar to another, but then i dont see where to change it for a fill

go to insert blank bars, then create your fills (I'd use a total of 8 bars)
