midi files on the mpc

so i should save them as type I or type II from cubase?

Try both as a test.
I forget which one I use.
One allows each track to exist separately with its name.
The other doesn't.

It's easier to edit with the separation.

With the latest OS installed in ROM and the conversion tool booted from floppy (available from Roger Linn Design's web site ...)
