What up Void,
the button needs to be replaced. It will continue to work but after time you'll press harder and harder and eventually damage the control :cry:

The buttons don't cost much if you do it yourself...or get a "pro" :)

BUT my uncle is an electrician so when I need repairs I let him knock them out with me over looking to make sure all is well...... 8)

I get replacement MPC switches from Mouser for 28 cents each.

So di I (thanks Mike) but the 60 uses 4 pin tact switched, I believe the 3000 uses two pin...

I have the part number, I'll get it to you guys tonight.

ive dissasemlbed my mpc many o time in the short relationship ive had with it, i feel like im perfoming an operation when im under the hood of the 60,

i like, i wish i could soup it up! 2 gig ram!

I replaced all my buttons but the four above the slider.

Not buttons, switches. Different items.

I think it is SKHVBE for the 3000 (and possibly on the same page in the mouser catalog).

I keep a bunch of buttons around for various machines. Especially the ASR-10 since they are notorious for wearing out. At the same time it is about the most difficult to get to. It's about $150 worth of assembly and disassembly to change a 30 cent switch.
