Title. I have one and don't intend on selling it. But prices seem to fluctuate wildly lately on the market.

^i agree, but man people have gone insane with the pricing on both models these days. even non ebay listings are 1200 for an mk1 with ram and 3.10

I've paid 700 for my 60MKI without any upgrades at all (but great cosmetic condition). I spent 250 on the 3.1 OS and another 250 for the memory upgrade, still no SCSI. If i ever sell it (which i don't plan to do), it won't go for less than a thousand bucks.

We're talking about the first and legendary MPC. Pay up or buy an MPC Touch. :fku:

I recently got my second mkII for $750. This one is an amazing specimen. SCSI, 3.10, VERY nice condition and came with all original disks and two Zip drives along with 30-40 floppies. Decent buy in my books. It does need a backlight, but the case and screen are eerily flawless. Hell, the jog wheel is all grey, unlike most which are chipped and scratched around the top edge. :smoker:

I nearly bid on that one myself

6 for the mk1 i wont put down more then 4 for the mk2

why any reasonable person would expect that a mint condition, maxed-out MPC 60 ( I or II) should go for the same ballpark price range as USED 2000 xl is beyond me. lol

@Jaycee3k it's a debate on what something is worth vs what themarket is willing to pay. For years those MPC 60's and 3000's would sit around in peoples garages fetching 1/4th what they're selling for on ebay at the moment.

I bought my MPC 60 MK1 for 950 originally and sold it on craigslist for 400 and a S900. I sold the s900 for 300 bucks, so lets say I made 700 bucks off my MPC 60, I rebought the same mpc 60 from the same guy for 650. I just recently decided that I will make it a really stellar MPC by adding a new backlight replacing the tact switches, and giving it a new pad sensor plus cleaning up some of the grime off of it.

At the point I probably won't sell it as it was such a pain trying to sell it originally locally, but if I did it would go no lower than 1000 bucks, I overpaid for it a bit I think for sure since the tact switches were going and the pad sensors were a little weak. It did have 3.10, SCSI, and all that though. I plan on putting an internal scsi SD card reader after that I will probably just forever have it.

I personally wouldn't spend all that time to make such a small profit. That's why this ice on my wrist stay shiny man.

@ Richie - hmm Is not that price less than what it's actually worth? Is what it's worth even debatable?
Unless he's intend to buy wholesale so he can resell I just don't understand how such an offer is fair. No way in the world I would let one of those go for that ticket. lol.

On another note - not to switch the topic but how much would you pay for a mint S950? What about a MPC 3K LE maxed out and mint condition?

mpc60s are not rare, or in heavy demand... they were always in the 350-600 range sometimes as high as 700-800 if it was a maxed mk1 in fantastic condition (we're talking north america, not europe or aus... who knows what goes on there.. )

at that same time period, you could scoop up a 2000xl for 350-400.. yes, with customs or shipping if it crossed a border because it was bought on ebay.... they shot up to 500-600 bucks. but 300-400 for a 2000 classic often with the 8 outs. I don't know what has happened since then because i bought me a 2000 classic in brand new condition, with 8 outs, eb16, and the smpte for $270 including shipping, and a 60ii with the ram for 400.... so I haven't been checking the prices... MVs were 300-400 dollars around then too except if it had the 6 output board.

@Jaycee3k is worth debatable? That is how world commerce operates.

What I would feel comfortable paying for a 950 and a 3K vs what idiots on eBay are buying them for are two different things. I would not want to pay more than $1000 for a 3K and $400 f0r a 950.

@mr_debauch plus now when people like us are using CDN dollars to buy stuff, we already pay upwards of a 40% premium now because of it.

I just bought a mint S950, max RAM, new LED screen, new floppy drive, etc. from a forum member. I paid him 450 Euro including shipping. I don't feel like i've paid to much.

I bought my first maxed out S950 for 450 swiss francs, the 2nd one without any upgrades for 200 swiss francs.

S950 will only go up in price, mark my words.

Europe is another story anyway, an MCP3000 or MPC60 won't sell for less than a grand here (MPC3000 will be a steal for a grand).
