Hey all! Looking to purchase my first MPC. My goal is to record from my MPC 3000 through a studio mixer into my DAW. After spending some time researching recording MPCs into DAWs, I noticed that some prefer the sound of the low end coming out of the stereo out (for kick drums and such).

My question is this... Is there any way to assign only a select few pads to the stereo out? Or is it strictly a master output? I am aware that you can assign different pads to the 8 mono outputs, but can you do the same for the stereo out? Thanks!

I heard exact opposite

Remember reading somewhere that stereo outputs are 18bit? (Not sure)
I don't have mpc3k but s3k... didn't make any tests, but i'm sure difference is not drastic, if there actually is any.

No, you assign pads -> output, not the other way around.

Service manual of the mpc 3000 says 18 bit. Page 19 ... :hmmm:

Yea... pads to outputs. That's what I said. Am I missing something here?

Not quite sure what you're looking for here but Is the answer as simple as turning down the volume to 0 on the onces that are going to individual outs (volume in stereo out mixer) and keep the ones you want ?
I have some stuff going out of the stereo out and soem stuff from the individuals.
