MPC3000 & Syquest scsi CF card reader

Hey,

I've got a Syquest 270 Multi card reader (cf/sd/smart media) connected to my 3000 with a 4 gig card in it and the mpc can't find it. The read light flashes on the unit when the mpc is searching but doesn't connect. Tried formatting too. The address on the drive is 0, and the mpc is auto. Also tried setting to 0 on mpc.

The scsi works as I hooked up my old Zip drive that works (well it finds it, but fails formatting) but I'd love to get this Syquest working

It's got OS 3.11 is Vailixi needed?

Anyone had any experience?

forgetr cf readers in the 3k there garbage and cf cards that do work are hard to find, grab a copy of valixy and a scsi2sd

Ah cool, thanks. Im waiting on Vailixi to arrive, and im using my old S2000 Zip drive for now till I can get a few bucks. Is scsi2sd a better solution than a Gotek or HxC?

It says on the website for SCSI2SD that there are issues with compatibility with the MPC3000 and that it works slowly? Is that correct?

That info is wrong. I have OS 3.5 on my LE with a SCSI RaisenMonster CF reader and the SCSI2SD with 2GB card. It works great.
Just remember not to connect 12VDC to the SCSI2SD card when installing it. Only connect to 5VDC or just use the SCSI cable.
