Mpc 3000 Swing settings not changing notes

I have an Mpc 3000 with vailixi 3.5

When I go to apply a swing setting in 16th note nothing happens.

I try playing in hi hats with quantize on and swing settings, but it always plays straight 16's.
Even if I change swing after and apply to the notes, nothing changes.

Am I doing something wrong?

Update: I have also run os 3.11 off floppy, and the same thing is happening.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

well start up a new project... with just a hihat in ram.. do a sequence holding note repeat at 1/16 on the hat. THEN go into the menu to apply the swing.. in that menu hit the pad with the hihat so it knows you mean to do it to that pad... adjust the swing away from 50% ... try something like 65-70 to make sure it is working and apply it.

I was doing typical hip-hop 8th note hi-hats on the 16th note swing settings and nothing was changing at all.
I thought some of those notes would swing right?

Won´t work. Use 8th swing for 8th notes...

just turn the quantize off and put the notes exactly where you want them.. or use step edit to put in notes

No doubt! That's what I have always done.
But in an effort to learn the machine better I thought I'd mess with the swing settings to see how it worked.
