Mpc60

So i have the opportunity to get either a fully stock mpc60mk2 or another mk2 with the scsi, 3.10 and memory upgrades? My question is since the upgraded one is about $1000 more, is it worth it? My point is i kno i can just buy 3.10 but what about the exm-003 memory? Where can i buy that? Cause i assume the os n memory are different chips yes? thanks!!!!!

I dont know. I get that prices are higher these days..... but i wouldn't pay 1300 for it unless it had the ram expansion (scsi i dont really care too much)

thats what im thinking as well. where could i get the memory if i end up with that one? ive looked online but i cant find any that ship to canada.

end of the day... i bought a set of pirated OS chips for os 3.15 on ebay for like 40 bucks just to see what the hype was about. the ram is mounted on a proprietary board with an odd connector... which was before the official standard ram slot was really mainstream enough for music gear to have them. that means you need to find one on ebay and ask them to ship it to you... and youd be willing to allow the money to go through first as an incentive. That way they know you wont reverse it..

I guess my best bet is to find one with the ram expansion. Where could i find the ram expansion online? N whats its called?

the mpc60 ram expansion is called the mpc60 ram expansion. It doubles the internal memory to 26 seconds of total sample time.

You can add scsi and memory for much less than the price difference between the two units you mentioned, so I would go for the cheaper stock unit and upgrade it. Also if you want a set of original Roger Linn os chips v 3.10e I am selling these - ebay item 282685615673

Whomever is trying to sell you an MPC 60 for $2600 is trying to play you. You can even find a fully expanded MPC 3000 for less than that.
