I was wondering if anyone out there knows about how time sig works with quantizing on the mpc60 and any mpc. So i was trying different time sigs but something is not adding up. If i do 3/4 time sig at 90 bpms quantized at 1/8th i only get 6 slots per bar. i thought i was suppose to get 8 slots per bar no matter what with 1/8th.

A quarter note = 2 eighth notes

3 quarter notes = 6 eighth notes

So 1/8 quantize in 3/4 should give you 6 slots per bar.

Oh okay thanks. And another question. Is there a way I can quantize at 1/8th at 90 bpms without it destroying my patterns? I'm guessing it's making the grid 333ms between each slot at 1/8th if it's 6 slots divided by the 2seconds. I was looking at a time signature calculator and it was saying 90bpms at 3/4 at 1/8th is supposed to be 250ms and that it's 2seconds per bar but if that was true it would be 1.5 seconds per bar if there is six 8th notes right? Because 250 divided by 6 is 1.5 second. When I tried it it sounds like it making the grid 333ms so I'm guessing it's wrong?
