i just got this mpc3000 and the dial button that you turn below the data entry buttons seems really loose, like you can almost pull it out.....it works fine, just wondering if all mpc3000 are like this?

Mine is the same way, it gets worse, unless I press down and turn it skips selections, this is after four months of usage on a used unit. the one design flaw on the 3000. So dont feel bad.

couldn't you put something in the hole of the knob to make the fit more snug? You could always shop around for an alternate knob, shouldn't cost you more than $3.

i talked to this guy, and all you have to do is turn the mpc on it's side and pull out the dial, then there is a screw that you just tighten, and everything should be fine........it's no problem to fix.

welp, speak of the devil......mine just fully fell through (the top of the knob is still visible from the surface but its pretty much unusable), I just opened the 3000 up to see what was going on, its a little more complicated than turning it on its side....im gonna have to unscrew another little brace that is holding it up somewhat, get the loose part and then figure out where that goes....to make things worse the wires on the 3000 are super tight so i can fully fold out the top and get busy...argh...ill keep yall updated.
