Bored here at work and have been browsing the archives of this forum...saw alot of posts about compatibility issues with monitors to be used with the 3000.

After reading about "sync on green" being the main requirement for a monitor- my curiosity was piqued, I did some looking around on google and found this list of monitors that support Sync on Green:

http://playstation2-linux.com/sog.php

I didn't want to post duplicate info on here so I did alot of other searches on here...VGA+3000, VGA+ Sync on Green+ list etc... and didn't find any posts on here that included this list. If I missed it and this has already been posted- sorry!

Hopefully this can take out some of the guessing game when getting a monitor for your 3000...not sure if the monitors on the list are easily found or not though...

Guys - do any of you know where I can get a replacement jog wheel encoder for a 3000.

The jog wheel does not work on the unit - but pressing the + and - buttons do work, so I figure its something in the encoder not on the motherboard.

However - Im not sure where I can get a replacement one - npcstuff don't have 'em.

if you can find a donor s3000 sampler, I believe that will work. Several parts are usuable in the mpc 3000.

when using the mpc 60, while saving sound data if you have something playing through the input it produces some weird digital effect

check out roger linn's website for a list of added features. looks sweet but kind of pricey.

Any upgrade to the 60 is going to be expensive, sadly enough.

this might be helpful to someone, I have an mpc 60 II that had a worn out encoder. I tried one of these: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... ND&x=0&y=0

It's not a perfect match, but it works. the old encoder pins are marked. Looking at the back of the encoder, the wire going to pin 3 on the old encoder goes to the center pin on this one. old pin 1 goes to new pin one, old pin 2 goes to new pin 3. The 2 extra pins on the opposite side are for a built in push switch so they're left unconnected.

The main problem is the shaft isn't long enough - pressing the knob on makes it farther down in the case than the old one. I took my knob apart and put some sculpmetal moldable epoxy between the 2 parts so the knob sits up at the right height - works perfectly now. It's a little less clicky than the old one.

the link is broken but that does sound cool...

so the knob can be pushed in potentially as another button?

maybe that would be cool if that worked as the "ENTER" button...

Teac FD-235HF Drive, with jumper block on the back, jumper settings are shown Below (thanks DJames!)

Some have reported success with this same model drive with smaller jumper blocks, but few details are available.

I made everything as told but it didn't work. I used MPC60II original cables and os is 3.10. The light on drive is on and when using disk menu it says "There is no floppy disk in the drive. Please insert a disk. [Error code: FF60]" It doesn't matter is there really disk or not. Please help me.

EDIT: By the way is it even possible to save 1,44mb data to a floppy or does MPC force the drive to use 720kb mode so it formats floppys on 720kb?
