that's the only way without changing the proms. if you do this, you are better off to just get the roger linn 3.10

5DucK is likely referring to the MPC3000 since there is no downloadable OS for the 60.
You can buy 3.11 on EPROM chips from Akai for about $40, otherwise live with booting it in. Thing was developed long before flash OS's became widely available.
