what are your setting for the swing: kick, snare, cymbals, etc.

After I used the swing function on my kick, snare. etc, I found out in the step edit mode that it affects the notes that don't fall on the 1 2 3 or 4 count of a bar. Set up the swing at 50% (neutral) and leave the shift timing at later (16th note) and then go to the step edit screen. Use your transport button to move forward within the sequence. You will it will start with 001.01.00 and then move onto / 001.01.24/ 001.01.48/ 001.01.72/ 001.02.00 and so forth.

now change the swing to something drastic, like 60%.

Do the same as above, scroll through.

now it looks like this: 001.01.00/ 001.01.29/001.01.48/ 001.01.77/ 001.02.00.

You'll notice that the .24 change to .29 and the .72 changed to .77
I hope this helps. I don't want to confuse you.

The 001 is the bar you are on (first bar) The second number .01 is the step. The third section is within that step.

.01 = 1 .02= 2 .03=3 .04=4

count; 1-2-3-4 The .48 equals the halfway point between the steps (breaks it down further). It is the and in your count.

1-2-3-and-4

If you know all this, don't take offense, I am just try'in to help.
