I have an akai mpc60, and akai 2000xL and, a yamaha a3000, and I'm trying to synch them together. I've switched the MIDI ins, outs, thrus, a million times man, I am so MAD!!! How the hell can I do this??? I want the mpc60 to be the main sequence, and the other 2 samplers to be the slaves. Even if I could just get this wo work with one of the samplers I would be happy. This is really keeping me from making anyhting. I'm trying to learn how to trigger sounds from other samplers from the pads on my mpc60, and use my mpc60 as the master sequencer. I have never had this many problems with any other gear bfore. I'm serious, any input would be appreciated! Please no stupid " sell your gear" remarks.thanks-schdge ii[/b]

set the 60 to transmit midi clock, 60 midi out 1 to 2000xl midi in 2 (or in 1 and set the sync to in one)
60 out 2 to a3000 in. set the 2000 to external sync on.

shou;d work from there.

Hey yo, thanks for the advice!
right now i have the 60 midi out 1 to 2000xl midi in 1, and the 60 midi out 2 to the a3000 midi in. I have the 60 SYNC OUT generating MIDI CLOCK out MIDI 1 and i've set the sync in and out on the 2000xl to on.
I don't know man, last night I had the 2000xl triggering the 60 for a while but, that's the opposite of what I want to do. So far today, I have had no success soing this at all. I've loaded samples into my 2000xl in hopes of sometime today (or tonight!) hearing those sounds play when I hit a pad on my 60! iy's just one button that I have to push, I know it! this is so frustrating! this can be done right? I mean, midi makes these things possible right?dDM

did you change the mpc 60's track to midi and set the channel fo the 2000?

HA HA HA!!!!! yo, hell yeah! I set the channel to 1A -SYNTH01A and it started working. I'm halfway there baby!Earlier I was able to sequence the sounds from the 2000 with the 60 but, I wan't able to trigger them from the 60. Then I switched the channel to synth and now I can trigger the 2000 from the 60. Now all I have to do is trigger the a3000 too.
yo, thanks alot man!!! Finally got part of this working. I kinda know nore/less what's goin' on now. IT doesn't make a whole lot of sense but hopefully it will.
I'm still gotta get this a3000 goin', I guess I just gotta mess with it a little more. One I can get it going, I'll be SO happy! thanks alot man, I really appreciate it.-dDM

set it to a different midi channel. synth 1b if you have mpc 60's out 2 connected to the a 3000.
