If you push down on the contrast knob it turns it off, push it again it turns it back on.
thanks it was already on - it's just not that bright :/ don't know if a new backlight would fix that.
It's easy to read if the room is pitch black...
it,s the el folie backlite thats fades out, its normal with akai backlights.
order a new backlite for 30 dollar/25 euro at

putting it in is a mather of slide the old on out, and slide the new one in, and solder the 2 cables on.
like 5 or 10 minuts work and it,s ready
