Voted for Krakenjunge by mistake.... great beat though!

I-King was supposed to get my vote this week...!

Saadyah.... so much energy...maybe a bit too much, but behind all that sound was a really good beat!

Sickthe D-god: solid intro and 1st verse... didnt feel the vocals though.

Good week, quite a few people used the same sample chop as me too :P

MA Beats Nice chops, had me head nodding to it - its often hard to ‘judge’ a beat when theres an acapella on it though.

No-FVCE Nice knockin non-quant drums :) - liked the additional vocals you added in

SICK - Full sounding, liked the plucking you chopped up and the phased/flanged effect.

Krakenjunge - Choppy nice, definitely another head nodder!

Rockin’Doublz - I think the beat is great, but without the acapella - its a little too distorted for me

Keith’s Lard - Nice drums and overall arrangement

Martian Heights - Percussion elements in there are fresh, not the usual kick snare hat routine

JnB Beats Nice use of vocals, snare and hats might hit a little hard in the mix?

Saadyah Tzvi Huge sounds! loved this one!

ProtoOne’s beat isn’t available for me :(

Don Blake A little short / loopy for me but a good starting point

Emwu23 Such a different flow than all the others, refreshing. Sounds almost like a battle record I could imagine Qbert cutting over. Additional elements are fantastic and takes this one to winning status for me.

Reefer I wondered if someone would use this acc! - Sample seems a little quiet in the mix?

Mattman121775 Real nice overall sound, executed well with good “special rule’ elements

Ivoryviking Chops great, arranged well, drums hard! Close between this one and emwus as winner

I don't know where it went wrong. But perhaps, when I had a re-entry of the beat with vocal.

Good beats all around, the theme was evident in them but what stood out for me was ma beats, it had the club bounce vibe that makes the ladyz bootyz shake! Haha...peace out..

Loved MA Beats, very soulful. Thou it was Harem vs Haram. :hmmm:

My vote goes to Keith Lard,

The built up reminded me of MCLyte's: Throwin' word at you.

Hey peps.
i almost were "trapped" by saadyah tzvi again :worthy: : really strong energy, but i went with mattman finally. Nice group work all!

One question on how 2 do: how you guys work with an acapella? Of curse you pitch the bpm, but do you chop for example a whole acc into pieces if it doesn´t fit here or there? You can take mine as example- the start sucks and the end fits...
By Keith's Lard Sun Oct 12, 2014 6:02 pm
Nice beats all. Found it a bit hard to choose just one, ha. I ended up voting for Mattman with Saadyah and ma joint second, dope work.

Lots of very good beats this week.
I really had problem with who I will vote for.

My favourites:
MA Beats
5XVT
mattman121775
Ivoryviking
Reefer Madness - this is really good beat and as 5X I think the samples sounds too quiet in the mix

My vote goes to saadyah tzvi :worthy: ,that is what I like

Mattman did it for me this week.

I really dug listening to the tracks this week. Not much to disslike.

.

I don't chop unless I'm only using pieces. I really listen to the original and how the words landed on the snares. Then slide that thing around and listen a hundred times.

But I just started trying it out myself. Kzee and saad would have better tips.

Went with Ivory viking. So much good in this battle. Best one I've seen on this board.
I'll try to do more analysis later.
