Yeah 2HD (1.44mb) type floppies are surprisingly reliable. But I never like to use two floppies for a single project. I think eventually I want to upgrade to the hxc floppy emulator.

Until they're not.
I got sick of floppies going bad on me.. even supposedly new floppies.
I got an HxC emulator in mine but damn they are expensive :Sigh:

2HD.

Floppies are surprisingly solid and reliable. I had a big sample-disk lot of 60+ floppies for my old Mirage, that were made in the mid '80s by a 3rd party company. Only 2 out of all of them had a hard time loading or had probs. When comparing to newer modern technology - I've had several small keychain flash-drives and a few bigger desktop/laptop hard-drives taking a dump on me.

I was wondering, is there anyone who just doesn't save in the sampler? Just record the track (multitrack out) and leave it at that?

That' s more like old synths, where you can' t save the patch. Finish and record the track, or loose your patch.
