What up!

I know theres Maschine thread in here somewhere, but I decided to make new one, because I want people to see where the Maschine thing is going! (I dont have the unit myself YET, but going to get one ASAP!)

Unlike Numark, peoples at NI listen to their customers, and their newest update 1.5 is in beta test stage 8)
There is bunch of new features involved:

Performance page with eight assignable "Macro Controls" per Group
Host Automation support
Support for MIDI Continuous Controller and Pitchbend
MPC program import (500/1000/2000(XL)/2500/3000/4000 models)
"Consolidate Audio" copies all project-related files into one folder
Enhanced slicing with editable markers and new "split" mode
Destructive audio editing with trim, normalize, copy/paste, fade etc.
New "Project default" preferences including project template
New "vintage sound" MPC 60 and SP1200 emulation modes
16 Velocity Levels mode for controller
New effect algorithm: Grain Stretch
New "Add to Sample Map" function in browser
New "Copy Sound without Note Events" option
Adjustable polyphony limit per Sound
"Direct Monitor" option in sampling mode
MIDI export for patterns, including Drag and Drop to host
Improved event editing via controller
Improved waveform navigation via controller
Various other enhancements

I truly believe Maschine is the future of hands-on beatmaking. Its going fast forward for being one of the best products beat-oriented music has ever seen. Tell me what you think. And please no hating!

Sounds hot, except for the 'constantly upgrading' part. But then again, my feature-whore days are over... Maybe I'm just a grumpy old producer...

Im looking forward to trying chopping sample in maschine again...last time I was not all that thrilled about it...moving markers seemed real od and lacked precision, like I could not move it by few decimal points but whole chunks at a time or something.

however im glad to see some companies are still doing their job and dont leave end users in the dark. I hope this keeps up and sets an example for rest of them.

It's still more software than hardware which makes it easier to update and correct.

Also made it easier to have gotten right in the first place which they didn't.

Numark/Akai did a good job on the APC out the gate.

yeah its just a controller. what's genius about it is the concept - 'performance controller'. they nailed that...

They could have nailed it but most were looking to replace their MV, MPC etc and they missed that workflow.
They have already shown that they see this and are trying to play catch up.
