Akai S950 "Disk Not Mounted"

Im getting this message on my s950: "Disk Not Mounted" and im trying to troubleshoot the issue. So far i have taken the top piece off and am trying to either take the drive out or simply just dust off any thing that might be a factor. However, I do not have access to the disk drive because of other things blocking it...Heres a picture of where i am at currently.

Floppy drive is dead

...I tried cleaning my original 950 drive... no success, modded a teac drive til I get the hXc.. hoping they might change the colour scheme to something less cheap and tacky looking.

the floppy drive isnt dead.. i found out that all u have to do is open the machine and push the ribbon cables to and from the drive and make them tighter.
