Need help running my signal through Akai S1000!

Hi

I recently recieved a free Akai S1000 which seems to work okay. I dont want to use it for beatmaking, I simply want to run my signal through to color the signal with that oldschool Akai sampler sound.

Signal chain: vinyl player 2 S1000 2 PC w/ M-Audio interface

There are two jack ports on the front of rhe sampler labelled Input. So I connected my vinyl player to that Input att the front. I then tried connecting the backsides Output port to my M-Audio interface's Input. (jack-2-jack).

Now the problem is when I put on a vinyl there doesnt come any sound through, what am I doing wrong?

Do I need to be in a certain menu on the display aka the software of the S1000 to make it play the sound going through it? Maybe a Recording menu??

But I litterally have idea how to operate this sampler, so if its simply a case of opening the right menu on the screen, could anyone guide me through it?

Have to be on the sample monitor page.. You should try using the sampler as a drum machine, very fast midi response times, great punchy sound.
