I have made a lof of tests.

Here's the result , the s950 have a limitation due to its Operating System for saving data via IB105 or IB109.

Here's the test I have done with my s950 (maxed memory 2.25Mb) + IB105 Mk2 + prototype CF card reader.

The s950 can format and recognize 2Gb & 4GB SD cards. I have created 128 voumes (empty partition) maximum.
I have sampled 30sec (94% of the internal at bandwith 19200 / maximum sample rate) in the S950.
I have saved the 30sec duration sample in 32 partition. I tried to store in the 33th volume but I had a message on the s950 screen saying : Hard disk full !!!!!

So I have sampled 94% of the s950 memory.

2.25Mb = 2304kb
2034kb * 94% = 2165.76kb

2165.76kb x 32 (volumes stored) = 69304.32kb

69304.32kb / 1024kb (1Mb) = 67.68Mb around 68Mb

The s950 with IB105 Mk2 is able to save 68Mb of data in a 2Gb SD card.
That's not a lot but that the maximum the OS 1.1 & 1.2A are programmed to do.

The limitation is nearly the same as IB109 with SCSI 100Mb zip drive , it's possible to save only 64Mb in a 100Mb zip disk.

From IB109 manual : The IB-109 is designed for use with the SYQUEST SQ555 removable hard diskunit (44 Mbytes). Use the above model its equivalent.

Note:
Even with a SCSI hard disk unit of a larger storage capacity, you cannot take advantage of its larger capacity because the IB-109 can handle only up to 64 Mbytes.

Regarding this , I consider that the IB105 Mk2 will be a solid alternative to IB109. With a better device for storing and loading data. SD card is much better than Zip disk.
S of SD means SECURE , D means DIGITAL.

I will make test with smaller SD cards size like 128Mb & 512Mb that are less expensive ($3.00 / $4.00) than 2Gb ($7.00).

Does it make sense? Opinions are welcame.

makes sense the pricing will be crucial and I presume the euro market will be bigger as us guys had a influx of emax's in Europe the s series did a lot better.

but my biggest concearn is the sd card limitations, while you can only use x amount of space, smaller sd sizes are simply not available and are very slow, you should try to get compatibility with bigger sd cards and perhaps try to get the sd card people to make say 32 pages per folder that way you can sort of show the s950 1 gig per main folder,

folder 1
sub folders 32 total 1 gb size

press buttons on device to switch to another folder
folder 2
32 sub pages
1 gb total size etc

if you can get the sd device to sort of browse sub folders while in main folder and be able to switch to another main folder

meaning using more space of the sd card and utilizing the full capacity with main folders sub folders per seen Disk.
