Open it up and have a look at the internals.

I always thought the "i" meant it came with the digital I/O expansion fitted.

fatgyver

A internal hard drive?

Yeah I have had it opened up
Other than the holes for where a hard drive can be fixed next to the floppy there is little other indication of a capacity for another storage mediun.

There is another floppy drive povwer socket.
Is that the way?

I have read or gathered the opinnion the 'i' meant it has some sort of hard drive function.
But maybe you're right, because have the xlr output thin

Not on mine Clint, no digital outs, just RXL's
This has got the 8 outs
And the sscsi board.

There's a furter 2 emty slots next to the scsis slot

Mine has built in effects too. echo, delay . dist. churos or flange.
Realy nice machine.

Do all s3000's have effects?

Sorry, the above statement is gibberish.

But I think I understand now.

On the inside, on the scsi card there is a 50 pin socket, (I think these are called 3.5" SCSI socket) ?
And next to the floppy power socket there is a extra power socket.

I have stared inside this machine on numerous occasions, but had always looked for a socket similar to the ide that connects to the floppy drive :WTF:
Yeah I know, I'm stupid huh.

I'm a bit new to all this scsi business.

So would I be correct in thinking that I need a 3.5" SCSI hard drive?
Then probably a molex adapter for the power cable?

I'm building an external hard drive at the moment too, which will also need a hard drive with the same 50 pin connecter.
Are these called '3.5" SCSI' ?

Thanks for the help.
