Akai S900 Power Cable

It's My first post, so hello evryone

First, sorry when I will write something not correctly, I'm from Poland and still practice my language

I have problem cause I bought Akai S900 without power cable, I thought it's easy to get one, but I thing I was wrong.

Here is the Power input which I have in my S900:



I'm living in UK territory, so I searching it here.

Any ideas? Thanks for all help.

It needs a cable with an IEC C9 power connector...

Was also used heavily on Marantz Hifi equipment in the 1980s and 1990s

i guess they made a removable one for euro models.. mine is hardwired.

So, that one from ebay will work without problems?

Same deal with the MPC60 MK1, IIRC.

Just solder in a normal 3 prong receptacle. They a conveniently available. I did the same with mine and no problems. I believe the roland 909 had the same crazy plug

It is not a "crazy plug".

Electrical regulations were different at the time.

Lots of older gear, pre 1991/92, have this type of mains socket.

Encouraging unqualified folk to undertake such modifications is potentially dangerous. Play it safe and buy the correct cable!!

Incorrect mains plug for UK.

That's true, but it's not something that couldn't be eventually worked out. Just food for thought

Perhaps if you haven't the soldering equipment, and you also need a file as the 3-prong receptacle is too fat for the 900 slot, so you need to shave off some metal for a good fit, then it may be better to hunt for the proper cable
