A friend of mine gave me an akai s6000, i will like to put in a new hard drive could anyone let me know what is the largest hard drive i can put in this unit, and also what other parts i will need, thanks in advance for any help.

i think I have heard of people putting in 250 gig ones but I am not sure 100%... you should look on google for the manual, AND the service manual too... both of those are important to have copies of on your computer for not only knowing the machine, but knowing what parts are what in case you need to service the thing...

**** awesome you got that though, it's one I always wanted to have. You get a crap ton of sample time in that too if the ram is maxed I believe... **** awesome.

I have a 300 gig hd in mine and it reads fine.
