lol @ the akai MPX 8 & 16

Probably old news to anyone on this forum who has tried these, I have never considered them at all myself but in case any of you were... here is another "come on akai" moment.



Not my vid, I just stumbled on it.

Here is the mpx 16 randomely cutting off random millisecond amounts from the start of samples... and it isn't user chopping error because you load these samples from your computer on the memory card:





Even though I would not buy one of these..... come on akai...

Bloody hell, that's awful. Anyone in the market for a cheap sample player are better off with the Korg Volca Sample.

yeah or downloading a free one on android hahahaha.... hell add pop ups are better than lag and **** up samples

That is a disgrace, to put it mildly, considering Akai's S-samplers have always been the top of the line in terms of the punch factor. Like someone said, beats coming out of an Akai sound like bricks - and that is a compliment.
Those in the vid definitely sound like wet turds.

I was looking into getting the MPX16, then I read the horror stories about super long load times and the nasty way they played samples. With obviously sweet FA support from Akai.

Second Hand Roland SP404s are usually very expensive in Germany to get second hand, the SP 555 is way toooo big and very expensive secondhand and they are often cained. Ie dropped and buttons and stuff missing.

I only needed a small sampler to play my UK Garage vocals as part of a hardware only set up as a change from my studio releases.

So I got a Mint condition MPC 500 ....... for 240 Euros, boxed, manuals and with the Akai 128 RAM installed. Thats why I joned this forum cus its a crazy machine better than I expected. I use it as a phrase sampler...... lol
