triggering multiple channels on the s1000

hello folks.
ok i am trying to trigger my s1000 from the mpc 2000xl,
have the midi cable set up.
well it works fine for one track,
but as soon i want to record a second track with a different program on midi channel 2,
the first one also changes its sound.
i guess it has something to do with the program change settings of the s1000,
but i cant quite figure what i have to do...
so if anyone could help me,this would be nice

I think you have the set different programs to receive data on different midi channels, i.e., give each program a different midi channel assignment.

@punjami are you running os 4.4 ?

The s1000 has a very strange way of responding to midi programming change messages.

Normally midi instruments can just have one program on each channel at any time.

The S1000 is totally different, I can't remember the details, but it's all explained in the manual. I sold mine a while back.
