Hi there, im new to posting onhere so i hope this is the right place for this post:) any help would be very helpful 
My akai s950 will only format floppy disks to 720 k ( on dd disks or hd disks). And will only read from 720 disks ( either dd 720k or hd disks formatted on my s950(720k) or hd disks formatted to low density on my akai s1000.
It won't read any of my s1000 sample disks.
I don't think It's the floppy drive as i have swapped the s950 drive with a spare s1000 drive i have got (tested and formats to 1.44mb when it's in the s1000) but when the s1000 drive is in the s950 again it only formats to 720k and will not read 1.44 formatted disks and says the 1.44 s1000 disk is unformatted as it did with the original s950 drive.
Any help would be amazing as i find floppies much more intuitive that the emulator drive which i have also
