Eh - sometimes Guitar Center blows out used stuff much cheaper than they should. They low-balled some guy who needed cash and then they did their standard resale fee on top of that. Works out for everyone except the first guy.

I don't think I'll be selling mine anytime soon. I still need to pair it with the Live, but that will come.

That only applies to SP-16 and AS-1 (Fortunately DJS-1000 is not tainted with the reputation that TORAIZ has)
Two big mistakes that has damaged the TORIAZ brand
1:SP-16 firmware update debacle (it was obvious only a small team in the UK were developing the firmware )
2:AS-1 midi sync issue debacle when changing patches
Despite the disaster the TORAIZ gear is still and will always be top notch. Pioneer either need to kill the brand or chuck a lot of resources at it so they can support it better.
Rightfully or wrongly Elektron have got away with it , with the Digitrakt sampler despite being just as guilty as TORIAZ team.

Pioneer has definitely learned a lesson and are steering in the right direction. They seem to realize Akai and Elektron are their competition and are at work to optimise the machines more with the updates. There could possibly be a flagship down the line.

We'll have to see 6 months from now how things will change. I remember the AS-1 being demo'd at NAMM '17, they were syncing the SP-16 to it, man that was a disaster

I believe Pioneer is at a position where they have created their own path. A lot of folks don't want a DAW in a box, they want an innovative sampler without the bloating. And thats what these machines are, lean mean porno magazine.

I like Tubedigga, he sees the machines the way we do, its more than a DJ sampler indeed. Pioneer needs to advertise these as DJ and producer tools. Everyone that sees the DJS and never touched one, think its an SP404 or a simple launchpad. For me, its a versatile sampler and does the operations in an old school way but advanced for 2018 that you feel the innovation progressing at your fingertips. I can rave about it for days still :-D

Spent some time the other night programming "classic" hip-hop and techno patterns in the SP-16, then mucking them up to my own way. Loads of fun! I love this thing.

I really should crack the manual, but it's so easy to run I've yet to have to!

Frankie Knuckles been around since I was 16, glad to see he never sank away into the abyss of 90's House. Digging this!

When I first copped the DJS in December, I heard a lot that it can't make whole tracks and only good triggering samples and laying effects on them. But it more than capable of creating albums. The Render Audio feature is pretty neat in creating stems and/or full songs into wav. files if you want to polish further in a DAW. I like the sound of the box itself and will record straight to HD :smoker:

Request Live sampling to be 44.1khz 24bits rather than 16bits---simple firmware fix as D/A is 24 BIT

It is 32 bit. A/D [email protected] and D/A [email protected]. You can find that in the Quick User manual. Unless I misread that you want 16 bit.
