According to forum discussions many Akai S1000/1100 owners have instead of recapping, replaced their old power supply with a modern drop-in replacement eg Meanwell brand with specs for their model eg Meanwell RS-35-5 for S1000.

However, the transformer in the S1000 was not discussed much in great detail :| .

For my questions:
- What are the specs of the transformer in the Akai S1000 (220V AC version)?
- Has anyone got info regarding a suitable replacement transformer (brand/model) that meets the S1000 specs, preferably available for sale in the EU?

There are vintage 2nd hand S1000 transformers for sale on eBay etc from time to time but I am interested in a modern new replacement and the S1000 transformer specs.

Thanks for any help in advance.

find the schematics for the S1000, that should give you specs for the output of the transformer. or get your multimeter out and read the outputs. then do a search on mouser etc for a suitable transformer.
lundahl transformers are generally regarded as the one of the best. start reading the data sheets. https://www.lundahltransformers.com

or you could redesign a power supply and choose you own capacitors and bridge rectifiers etc. and not have to shoe-horn a transformer into the old akai power supply. you might even be able to buy a suitable pcb.
The good people over at https://groupdiy.com should be helpful. But be careful mentioning transformers with them, they are a little obsessive, and can rabbit on and on about the subject.
