So, I have an option here, I've been looking to get another sampler with my mpc1000. I could either get a ASR10 keyboard with SCSI zip drive for 550, or i could get an sp12 for 475. I know they are way different, but jus curious what you guys would do. I mean, i could get the sp, and jus have dope drum sounds thru that. or i could get the asr, and i have good drum sounds through the nice warm sampler there. is either one more "faulty"? im jus trying to make a decision, if ur gonna be sarcastic etc, don't post please

the ASR10 is my favourite sampler. It sounds like no other and as an interface it is superb.

The SP12 is more limited, but has a distinct flavour, though I would say the ASR is equally as distinct.

I own both but if I had to choose it would be the ASR.....just.

can't speak on the SP but as for the ASR I wish it had a compact flash drive!!!

To me the the workflow is easier than on the 2000xl which i got right beside it.

plus you got 50 effects onboard and resampling and you can track mute in song mode.

ASR for sure, you can get them on ebay for great prices. anyone else surprised that no company has made anything to really follow up on the asr-10, i mean there are the tritons and fantoms but they aren't really the same.

Get the internal SCSI kit from Rubber Chicken and then put one inside or just attach one to the external SCSI.

ASR 10 my friend. Sounds dope, is pretty easy 2 use yet has parameters to tweak for a lifetime.
Be Warned though, it might make you Yace the MPC 1000.
