Fanu has had some very solid ideas. I'm talking legit workflow enhancements. Good sh*t bro.
Anyway, here are some of my feature requests and workflow enhancements I would like to see:
1.) An EQ (2 or 3 band) inside program edit. This would be in addition to the filter section. Sometimes its nice to take the bass out, or boost the mids without having to load a plugin onto a track. Also if this could include a gain knob that would be great. Even cooler would be different style EQs, like they have inside the filter section (SSL, Neve, and my favorite, the Sony Oxford, etc)
2.) Drum explode - Play all notes on a single track (think drums) and have it separate each note into individual tracks (kick, snare, hat, etc)
3.) Vintage mode - Vintage mode on individual tracks, as well as additional vintage modes with the ability to combine them (mpc60 with sp1200 ring would be ridiculous on snares)
4.) Song Mode - Let me delete sections, cut/paste, automate parameters, etc (think pro tools). Also a more detailed view of what I'm looking at would be great.
5.) Improved Key Commands - I understand this is probably controversial, but I simply cannot take my Renaissance everywhere with me. I like to do sample organization as well as make programs on the road. Simple shortcuts for things like zooming, nudging, start and and points, etc. The ability to import other key commands would be cool (or at leas the ability to create your own).
6.) Improved Automation - Different modes would be nice, especially curved automation.
7.) Activate the Metronome without recording or overdubbing. Maybe this could be activated by pressing "shift+overdub" This would be nice especially when trying to figure out the tempo of a sample.
Some items that don't deserve to go into my list because they are so obvious:
1.) Universal Mixer
2.) Audio Tracks
And some fixes that need to happen:
1.) After sample record, please disable autosave. So many times I sample something, only for it to autosave and I lose my recording entirely. Ridiculous.
2.) If I turn the hardware on after I open the program, it fails to recognize the MPC. Or when it does, the screen on the MPC is lit up but isn't displaying anything.
I'm sure I'll think of more as I go, but heres to hoping...
