Recording from turntables (noise problem)

I'm using the Music Hall USB-1 turntable to record into my renaissance.
The meters look good and recording is good, but about every 30 seconds, the recording creates noise as the vinyl is played.
I'm not sure if there is a problem between the connection from the turntable to the MPC.
The turntable has built-in phono, so I am only using the RCA cables to connect them.

Hi, Do you have the switch on the back set for line? If not that maybe your issue. switch it down from phono to Line... Hope this works for you.

Is it by any chance a digital popping, static type of sound?

Grounding issues? I looked at a picture of the back of that unit and it doesn't seem have a ground screw or anything. Might try checking what you have the RCAs connected to.
