I'm thinking about copping the Pro-ject tube ox S. Any other recommendations?

Should try asking in the 'Studio Set Up & Gear Advice' forum. This is a djing forum

I always recommend the same, as it still seems like it's the best bang for buck. Just read the reviews and decide for yourself.

Cambridge Audio Azur (there's several models) Phono Preamps.

No tubes, but they are praised like 1.000 dollar phono-preamps.

I can +1 the Cambridge recommendation. I originally didn't have a RIAA curve preamp to go with my turntable (I'm not a DJ like that). I just wanted something solid to play records with. I started with a cheap BBE preamp but eventually went this route. And it was worth it.

Even the entry level one for 139.00 is good?

I've been looking to upgrade to this eventually. Glad to see it gets a few good recommendations here.
