There is one number that blast away all other turntables IMO: lifetime. Mine is over 20 years old and saw many parties. Still runs and I bet it will run another 20 years (ok, now without the parties :))

One of my 1200's is from 1978 the other is 1994. Never had a problem besides RCA replacement which happens if your playing out regularly, only one pitch bugged out. That's it. Most of them people bring in tho have other issues but it's all on what you do to em. But even then, the most important point.

All off the shelve parts. Nothing custom, nothing proprietary. You could keep it running for your entire lifetime.

Is that a reaction the prices?
Even the newest model is over $2000. I was hoping they would be like $1000 tops. So I'd rather buy a new cartridge and preamp for my SL-5100 and buy some more records instead.
