Hi all - I am thinking of purchasing an MPC X, to replace the MPC5000 (and older 2000XL) both of which were very handy at handling midi files directly.

My question is, Can i load midi files (type 1 with separate data per track) onto an SD card and load them straight into the MPC X, and in the same way, can I export midi files from the MPC X onto the SD card?

I would rather not 'have' to go through the 2.0 software if I can help it, as the main production PC runs ubuntu studio (linux) which wont run 2.0 software unless I were to use an emulator (which is hassle) - much prefer to keep the mpc as standalone as I use hardware for all synths etc.

Many thanks, Richie.
