These prices are not exclusive to Juno, $1498 is the $ equivalent of the UK selling price excluding VAT. All retailers in the UK and the EU are selling at these prices. Just remember that most countries will charge you additional fees when you import goods, so for example with you in New Zealand, you will be charged 15% GST ($224) and as the taxes exceed the $60 threshold, you'll be charged an additional clearance fee of $49. That's in addition to the $70 shipping cost for a 5.5kg MPCX shipped from the UK. That comes to around $2640 NZD, which is approx $1900 USD, which seems to be the average 'street' price in most countries after all the discounts and coupons all the retailers seem to be offering. Plus, do you really want to deal with a UK company when it comes to warranty or shipping issues? It's also not clear if Akai offer a 'worldwide' warranty, there's nothing specific on their web site.
