For the ones getting the SKB case, you are aware you can get an empty toolbox, buy the foam separately, stickers and save a lot of money like that right; and probably get the electric screwdriver as a bonus : D

Hey guys, I am looking for a protected and maybe hard bag to carry Live with a Boss Vf1 and a Kaoss Pad plus cables and adapters.
I noticed Live fits perfectly in 15inch laptop bags, so a bag like that but with two compartments would be perfect.
Any suggestion?

I use Jansport watchtower. My live fits in the laptop section, iPad in the front pocket, minilab, switch, 3ds, notebook, pens, cords, 2 pairs of headphones. Heavy but very comfortable and quite aesthetically pleasing

IKEA forenkla also does the job but I had to sew some padding into the bottom

I got a New Era Slim Pack that is exactly the perfect size for the MPC Live and even has extra pockets in the front for hard drives wires or small headphones. Got myself some EVA foam along with Mastercraft egg foam and Mastercraft picked foam. Gonna post the results of this by next week. Total cost of materials is about 30$ since I already had the bag. But you can get the bag for 40$ from New Era. The perks of this is that It'll still be small enough to fit in a backpack. I've listed a link to all the products I got if some feel creative too

Finally I got a beautiful Samsonite business Spectrolite backpack for 17'' laptops.
Very comfortable, light and protected, enough space for Mpc Live, Kaoss pad and RV 500 plus cables and adapters.
Crazy how it looks so small and carrys so many things.

I was able to get a hold of the New Era Slim Pack for about $38, luckily it was on sale! This backpack's compartments fit everything I would need in order to do some on-the-go producing. It's a bit of a tight fit for my liking though and doesn't have a lot of space for me to add much padding...although I was able to cut up an old thin yoga mat and use it..which is fine. It does the job! I'm excited to start traveling with this thing, here are some pics of the bag.

Can you provide some other affordable options? I'm open to suggestions.

I don't recommend backpacks or soft cases, unless you just going a walking distance from A to B. But if you the type that travels a lot on trains, planes and automobiles, a hard case is highly recommended.

Seriously, I saw many forums of users posting their broken pots and buttons from wrapping their gear with a towel and tossing in a backpack. One guy had his entire screen blackened by going through rush hour on the subway. I myself suffered consequences in the '90s but learned since :smoker: so don't think I'm trying to get people to go out and get hard cases but there are cheap ones, like the one I got for $40 in the early pages of this thread. Thats a photography case and fits the Live snug. viewtopic.php?f=48&t=182743&start=30

Of course, there is always diy alternatives too. :)
