I just put a 2 tb hd in my live and it was mad easy. Like too easy, anyway are you guys mounting hard drives to your new stand alones or are you rocking USB and sd storage?

i bought a western digital 500gb ssd for my live.. should be enough i guess.

You probably know that depends entirely on the total size of your samples.
E.g., the song whose video I just posted takes 23.9 megs on my HD.

250gb samsung. No issues. Had the live over 2 weeks.
I had an old SSD drive laying around and put it to use immediately.

I put a 256 GB SSD in mine.
Question, did ya'lls come with screws for mounting the SSDs? I ended up having to use two of the screws for the plate for putting in the SSD, so I got two supporting the drive and two supporting the plate supporting the ssd.

240 ssd installed full of expansions. 2tb external usb full of samples, and a 64gb slim fit stick for audio recording tracks.

525 Gb Samsung SSD in mine. I'll be in the grave before that thing gets filled up.
[edit] Crucial, not Samsung. And it's already giving me fits, going down every 5-10 minutes (and taking out the EFI drive at the same time). Not good, sending it back to the shop.

i was told from an akai rep that the screws were supposed to be in the bag with the manual.
if they are not in there, contact parts and they will send some.
clearly most of us just found some screws elsewhere, but yes the live is supposed to come with screws.
i have two attached to the ssd . you don't need 4.
