Metal casings are not heavy at all. Probably thin as a sheet of cardstock, plus all the holes to punch out for the pads and the screen will lessen the weight. Also depends on the metal used.

Nice! I was only thinking panels/stand... maybe metal knobs, but that's slick. I might be interested in a custom metal case.
