MPC Live 2 - Screen Brightness and Contract Issue

I received my second MPC Live 2 Retro from Zzounds. The first one I bought was when they came out and its perfect. Comparatively, the one that just arrived has a very dim screen and as a result the viewing angles are atrocious and the glare, even in a low lit room, is unbearable. I have to squint to see the screen. Measuring the screen brightness with a light meter - shows that the difference of my older MPC Live 2 vs the new one, is about half the brightness (at "day" setting).

Is there some sort of admin or configuration boot up mode that will allow me to adjust the screen brightness and contrast beyond just "day" or "night"? I feel like if I could boost the brightness, this would be alleviated.
