If you want to drop the tune on your sample, but want to keep the loop in tact; +/- one full step is equal to 5 on the tempo. So if you have a 4 bar loop with a tempo of 100 on the sequencer and want to set the tune to -1.00. Change the tempo to 95 and you should be good. This applies to the 2500 with JJOS. I do not know if it works with the others.

tha math:
tuning and speed are directly proportional.
The MPCs (and most music anything in general) use equal temperament tuning, meaning an octave is 2x the pitch/speed, and all the semitones in between are equally spaced. (the ratio of one semitone to the next is constant)
12 semitones in an octave, so a semitone is a 2^(1/12) factor in pitch/speed.
2^(1/12) ≈ 1.059

So the tempo scales by 1.059, or 5.9%. which starting at 100BPM, is actually closer to 6.. 8)

(in general, you can figure out the new tempo with the formula: new tempo = old tempo * 2^(semitones/12), where semitones is the number of semitones you shift, + or -)

Not going to lie. I'm going to have to read that a couple times before it sinks in.

The normal person just uses their ears.
