Rain Cheque

First beat I've put out there for others to hear in a long time. Let me know what you guys think.

Hi Rain Cheque,

after listening for a few times to the beat i began to like it.
The main sample is nice and the vocalcut also. i also like the refpart, in which you let the sample play longer.
But also i think there are some problems with the beat.
The bassline is somewhat boring and too standart hiphop, maybe because its too predictable.
maybe if you leave more room and more syncopation could help or try more notes.
also the tune seems not right.
The highpitched melody throwed me of, the first time i listened to it. I think some notes are not in tune. Maybe less could be more here.
The thing about pitch is that if you listen long enough to it you get used to it. Sometimes if i am not sure about pitch (which is very often ), i let the beat rest for a day and listen to it with "fresh ears" and then immediately change the pitch, til its feels right.
Overall i like the atmosphere and the general direction of your beat. Hope you dont mind my critizm.
