These knobs have been a side project of mines for a while.
My main goal was to upgrade the plastic factory knobs to
a pair of custom made aluminium ones specifically for the
mpc1000. The current ones do the job, but I wanted
something a bit more finessed.
Plastic vs aluminium:
The design is taller(but not too beefy) and slightly wider for nice
feel, the knobs rotate nice and smooth. I took the time to make
sure that the design was sturdy and functioned properly.
I took the time to put an indicator, chamfered the top edge, knurled
the sides for grip and to push it a bit further I've put a set screw on
the side to make sure the fit is snug on the pots shaft.
For finishing I've bead blasted them to give them a clean matte look, its
more a gun metal/titanium colour verses a bright silver. If I have a need
to paint them they'll have a nice texture to hold primer and paint. The
bottom is bead blasted, the one shown here is unfinished. All in all
looks fresh.
These knobs haven't made my music sound better. I've produced a few
pairs, pm me if anyones interested.

Nice work on the knobs. Those would look good in anodized black aluminum too.

These make me want to actually finish up my blue MPC...
Been needing new pads for like two-three years? So hard to spend the money there VS impulse record buys and sh*t for my drums.
Poor baby... I don't mean to neglect you, it's just, it's.... I just need to remember that building each other is part of real love.
You've built me, darling, now I must build you!

128MB, 160GB HDD, fat pads and black buttons/knob from mpcstuff.
I also got some black knobs for gain/vol (the ones that look like Moog knobs) but wasn't happy with how they attach to the pot so for now I'll stick with the factory ones, I might paint them and the CF slot pink.
Also, I was planning on replacing a few tact switches but the new buttons have surprisingly improved the response so I think I'll leave them for now.

So I've managed to do some changes to my mpc. White casing, black jog wheel, black volume and REC knobs, wood panels... the former owner har already installed 128mb ram. Forgot to mention the new sensors and thick pads. I'm planning on switching to blue screen, blue leds and light in the dark pads later.
My only problem now is that my main outputs does'nt work, and I can't switch to PAD bank b and c. This happened after replacing some Tact switches.

How in the world did you get the lettering blue like that on Jacaranda
