Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By emanuellauria Fri Jun 08, 2018 6:08 pm
Hi

Is it normal that an MPC2000XL crashes every once in a while? lets say, twice a month if you use it almost every day, some times with error message (memory dump) somethings nothing, just freezes out of nowhere, and no way to replicate.

Everything works. 8 outs, RAM has been changed and It doesn't happen while reading/writing to SD card.

1.14 but i just saw theres 1.20, i'll update tomorrow and reformat my sd card.

also ran a memcheck test and it said OK, but after it was done I pressed Main to go back to main screen and it showed me an error 0000:7405D or something like that. Need to chec tomorrow with more time whats up with that!

my first instinct is always bad memory... maybe a loose cable. mine crashes occasionally but i've just gotten used to saving regularly.

Mine never crashes, that's because I make sure all of my 808 1/32 rolls are eq'd correctly.

It’s called and “untrapped error”.

Lots of bugs were worked out of the OS and/or
trapped when they occur and you never know it.

Many still remain, some trapped and your system keeps on going.
Some never fixed, never trapped.

Meaning it will crash when those bugs /bad code happens.

Old machine, those bugs/bad code will never be fixed. Reboot or reload OS
is your only option.

@Lampdog, maybe emmanuellauria's XL has a virus.

Maybe it was the flowers volume knob.

My 2000XL has never crashed. I used to use in a really hot room, but my XL was very stable.
